In reply to letter No. 664 which Your Excel- -lency was so good as to address to me on the 2nd, instant, I have the honour to inform you that it appears to me convenient that some of the Chinese who wore detained in one of the islands close to this Colony should come to Macao with an agent of the Canton Police as indicated in your letter so as to point out to the Police of Macao the place where they were detained in case it may be in Portuguese territory or in the territory in dispute between Portugal and China.
